Join us for the kick-off to the second annual Hunger Games where we introduce this year's runs, donation goals, and most importantly, the new "trial by fire" twist!
12:30 - 2:30
Smash Bros. Ultimate is one of the most well known fighting games of all time, selling over 35 million copies worldwide. Fun for casual and competitive players alike, perhaps the game's biggest selling point is its expansive roster of video game icons. In this run, Kyle will have to complete online while randomizing his character each match, forcing him to show a mastery of all 89 fighters. If he fails, he'll have to compete in a trial by fire that's even more sour than the taste of defeat.
2:40 - 3:40
WarioWare's known for its chaotic and fast-paced "microgames." In this special run, Evan, who has never touched WarioWare before, won't be playing against the game: he'll be competing against the viewers! In the hour timeframe he's playing, Evan will get his move it on by attempting to beat more microgames than dollars donated during his run. If he fails to do so, he'll have to complete a Bean Boozled trial by fire where he'll treat himself to a cheat day after this WarioWare workout.
3:50 - 4:20
Pokemon may be rated E for everyone, but the competitive scene has a deceptively high skill floor. Caleb and Evan, who have already crossed that barrier, asked themselves what would happen if they each trained 1 of their friends in Pokemon and then had them battle against one another to see who came out on top. Which team will take victory for themselves and which coach will lose and have to compete in a dare or vinegar trial by fire?
4:10 - 5:40
Every year, video game masters compete in the biggest fighting game tournament worldwide known as Evo. But what if you took out the professionals, the venue, and the budgeting? Well, you'd be left with Evo at Home! Join BJ and Martin as they host their own tourney where the game changes every round and the players have no prior experience playing any of them. Tune in to find out who will fold under the pressure of an ever-changing environment and who will manage to adapt and rise to the top of this so-called home series.

Pico Park may not look like the flashiest game on our roster, being a relatively simple puzzle game, but for what it lacks in presentation, it makes up for with the fact that it boasts 10 player co-op. In this special run, all 10 tributes will be playing through Pico Park as a team, working their way through the game's 20 levels. Will they be able to come together and prevail or will too many chefs in the kitchen cause this squad to burn?
6:40 - 7:10
Celeste is a 2D platformers that has some of the genre's tightest and most challenging movement. In it, players attempt to summit a magical mountain and must make their way through the game's 9 chapters. For this run, Tyler will be putting his platforming skills to the test as he attempts to beat all 9 chapters in only 30 minutes. If Tyler fails to climb Celeste's mountain in time, he'll have to ascend to greatness in real life in one of our most physically demanding trial by fires.
7:10 - 8:10
Sonic's all about speed, but what if you ramped that up to an 11? Martin aims to answer that exact question in this run as he speedruns Sonic Adventure 2. Martin will take on the game's hero mode where he'll play as Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, having to master all 3's unique styles. With only 1 hour total on the clock, will he be able to maintain the sonic speed pace he'll need to finish in time, or will he spin out and have to endure a bone chilling trial by fire?
8:20 - 8:50
Haste is a 3D platformer that forces players to strike a balance between precision and swiftness. If that wasn't enough, though, players also have to manage equipment that range from giving you more speed to turning you invincible. BJ, Camden, Logan, and Tyler come together in this co-op run to attempt to beat the game's final level, juggling everything listed above in Haste's most high stakes environment. Join us to see if our tributes make haste of this challenge or find themselves unable to keep up with the game's breackneck pace.
9:00 - 10:00
Garten of BanBan is infamous among horror games as one of the genre's most blatant and low effort cash grabs. But while the game's well known enough to be laughed at, very few have actually sat down and played through it. In this challenge, Sean's going to take the dive and finally see what the game has to offer. The catch? He only has 1 hour to make it through the entire thing! Will he be able to blindly stumble to the top or will Garten of BanBan prove its haters wrong and show its got some challenge to it?
10:00 - 10:30
How well do you perform under pressure? Do you think you could perform as well if, say, a bomb and a ticking timer were placed in front of you? Keep Talking & Nobody Explodes poses that exact question for its players as 2 teammates come together to defuse a bomb: one player has the instructions on how to do so and the other player has to actually cut the wires to subdue the threat. Check out this run to see if tributes Caleb and Cheese manage to keep their wits or or if things will blow up straight in their faces.
10:30 - 11:00
Cuphead is a throwback to the early 1900s with rubber hose inspired run and gun action. Don't let the game's remarkable hand-drawn art style distract, you, though, because Cuphead is as challenging as it is retro. In this run, Logan pushes that to its limits as he attempts to take on a gauntlet of 5 bosses in a row without dying. To make things trickier, he'll be playing in the game's 2 player mode and randomizing his teammate each round between his fellow tributes who have never played the game. Will he be able to blast through the game or will he be wholloped and have to take on the role of milk man in his trial by fire?
Day 2

Day 2 will kick off with another opening ceremony that recaps day 1's donation progress and goes over what remaining events are in store.
12:15 - 1:15
In 2017, Hollow Knight was released and quickly rose to be considered one of the best 2D Metroidvanias ever created. Between its addictive gameplay and enchanting atmosphere, it instantly became a favorite among gamers, but what ultimately caused players to pour hours upon hours into Hollow Knight was its challenge. With 47 unique bosses, each of which can take multiple attempts to beat, it proved not to be a game for the light-hearted. Camden and Tyler, however, are Hollow Knight seasoned veterans and in this run will take on the game's first 4 pantheons, back-to-back gauntlets of the game's bosses. If they're unable to prevail, they'll have to sharpen their wits for a trial by fire that will put their endurance to the test.
1:20 - 1:50
Everyone's seen gameshows like Family Feud. 2 teams duke it out and at the end of it all 1 triumphs and is crowned the winner. But what if that classic team versus team format became a whodunnit-style mystery? In the Blame Game, 2 teams will duke it out answering video game themed questions, but one player on each team is an "imposter" whose win condition hinges on their team losing. With multiple opportunities to be voted out, will the imposters be sniffed out, or will the remaining players be stuck pointing fingers in a never ending blame game?
2:00 - 4:00
Slay the Spire II released only months ago as a sequel to the critically acclaimed roguelike deckbuilder Slay the Spire. While the original was already known for its high-level strategy and difficulty, a new roster of cards, enemies, and characters only ups that factor in Slay the Spire II. Having only had 3 months to learn the game since it came out, will Evan be able to beat Ascension 10, the game's hardest difficulty? Or will he find himself as the one slayed and have to draw his deadliest deck yet in a brutal trial by fire?
4:10 - 6:40
After conquering Pizza Tower last year, Caleb's back with yet another fast-paced action platformer in Anton Blast. Caleb will be putting his movement to the test as he tries to beat the game in 2 hours while destruction ensues around him. If Caleb succeeds, not only will he conquer his run, but he'll claim a world record for speedrunning the game's hard mode. With lots of explosive hijinks and intense gameplay ahead of him, will Caleb become a world champion, or will he crumble before he can grab victory and have to compete in our spiciest trial by fire yet?
6:50 - 8:50
Peak is a co-op game where up to 4 players aim to summit a mountain together. Just like climbing a mountain in real life, this is no easy feat and it can take multiple attempts to even get the hang of the game. Cheese, Evan, Logan, and Martin saw this, however, and ventured out to beat the game in one sitting with none of them having played before. Will they be able to reach a new peak for themselves and ascend to greatness or will they call it quits before managing to reach the mountain top?

Donkey Kong may be one of Nintendo's oldest characters, but hasn't stopped him from staying a gaming icon even today. Donkey Kong Bananza is his most recent adventure and gives players full control over their environment with the ability to smash through anything and everything in their paths. Logan hopes to use this ability to the fullest in his run as he has only 3 hours to beat the typically 20 ability game! Can Logan achieve smashing success in his run? Or will he fail and half to take on a banana-themed trial by fire Donkey Kong could only dream of?
